Q: What is the annual cost for NASO-ON membership?  
A: The annual membership due is $99.
 
Q: How do we join NASO-ON?
A: Your association can join by calling 262-632-5448 ext. 125 or click here to join online.
 
Q: When does our membership begin?
A: NASO-ON membership begins as soon as we receive and process your annual membership dues.
 
Q: When will we receive our membership package?
A: Your membership package containing the Guide to Local Association Management, Referee magazine and ONBoard newsletter, will mail as soon as your NASO-ON membership is activated. The membership package can take seven to ten business days to receive depending on your location.
 
Q: What is the difference between the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO) and NASO-ON?
A: NASO-ON membership is a group membership, not an individual membership and does not provide insurance coverage for individual officials. NASO membership provides benefits designed specifically for individual officials, including general liability and assault protection insurance. To view NASO’s benefits and services click here.
 
Q: Do our members have to join NASO in order for us to join NASO-ON?
A: It is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged, for any member of your association to be a member of NASO.
 
Q: My association is a member of NASO-ON; will our members receive a discount on NASO membership?
A: Yes, each member of your association is eligible to receive a $10.00 discount to join or renew NASO. If your association plans to purchase the optional General Liability Insurance, and the board of directors are individual members of NASO, your association will receive a 50 percent discount on this coverage.

Q: Does my association receive insurance coverage as a NASO-ON member?
A:

There are three optional insurance coverage’s designed for ‘not-for-profit’ officials associations who are NASO-ON members at an additional cost.  

  • General Liability Insurance
  • Directors & Officers Insurance
  • Game Fee Loss Reimbursement/Excess Accident medical
 
Q: What is the cost for the optional insurance coverage?
A: Contact NASO-ON’s insurance carrier, American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services, Inc. at 800-245-2744 for details.
 
Q: Does the General Liability insurance cover everyone in my association?
A: General Liability covers the association, its officers, directors and committee members while acting in the capacity of an officials association, or as an officer, director or committee member of the association.
 
Q: Where do I send our insurance payments for NASO-ON?
A: Send application/payment to NASO-ON’s insurance carrier, American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services, Inc. 142 North Main Street, Roanoke, Indiana 46783
 
Q: Why am I receiving two copies of Referee magazine?
A: As a member each association receives a monthly issue of Referee magazine to route to your association members. As the main contact for your association the subscription will be in your name. At the same time, you may also be a NASO member or Referee subscriber.
 
Q: What is the difference between the ONLine and ONBoard newsletters?
A:

ONLine e-newsletter contains the latest information about association management, member benefits, officiating and extra articles. The e-newsletter is available on the NASO-ON website and is sent via email monthly to all association leaders.

ONBoard is written exclusively for association leaders. Published monthly, ONBoard contains articles and tips on association management, public speaking, meeting presentations, legal issues and many other topics. 

 
Q: What publications can our association receive free with membership?
A: All active association members may receive one copy per year of any publications published by Referee or NASO listed in the “Members Only” area of the website. Associations may also request updated publications.
 
Q: Will the free publications be automatically sent to our association? 
  No, publications may be ordered online in the “Members Only” area on the website www.naso-on.org or contact NASO-ON at 262-632-5448 ext. 125.
 
Q: What How do we access the “Members Only” section on NASO-ON’s website?
A: Upon becoming a member of NASO-ON, each association is assigned a unique membership number. Your membership number acts as your password to access the “Members Only” site.  
 
Q: What publication discounts will our association receive? 
A: For bulk discounts call 262-632-5448 ext. 105.
 
Q: The previous leader of our association did not pass along the Guide to Local Association Management. Can I get a replacement Guide?
A: Please contact NASO-ON at 262-632-5448 ext 125 or email naso-on@naso-on.org to request a replacement Guide and update your association’s contact information.
